DVD Release
It's been a busy couple of weeks which is why I haven't been doing much posting to the Chronicle. I have been working on the Wedding DVD which is now complete. It looks pretty good, I think, for a first time effort and has been a very rewarding learning experience. It was my first foray into the world of DVD authoring and I was quite surprised at the fact that it all worked. It is by no means broadcast quality but definately gives one the inspiration to develop further projects. So hopefully there will be more videos in the future. I have tons of footage from 12 years of vacations to work with. For the past couple of weeks, Sandi, Nicole and myself have been playing in a summer band program sponsored by the University of Alberta. It is all orchestral music and quite a departure from the jazz stuff I am used to playing. Nonetheless, it is very challanging and an excellent way to stay in musical shape with lots of sight reading and breath control. I am playing tenor sax, Nikki is on trumpet and Sandi is playing clarinet. We have a couple of concerts coming up in July, one of which is in Red Deer.
