Holiday Time!

It's holiday time in the Hilton household. I started mine last Saturday and once Dianne gets off work today she will be on hers. We've no plans to go anywhere but we have plenty to do around the homestead, providing we can generate enough motivation. Our backyard fence is in desperate need of replacement so that is the priority this summer. We are in the process of organizing our supplies and getting going on ripping down the old fence and digging new post holes. Our new son-in-law Lee will be helping us as he is an expert fence builder and we will be helping him and Angie build a new fence along their back yard in Leduc.
I dragged my little utility trailer out of storage yesterday and got all the lights working and the tires pumped up in readiness for several trips to the dump which are going to be needed this summer as we clean out our yard and the house of debris and clutter that has been accumulating for the past few years. There are plans to repaint some of the rooms in the basement but that project is a bit down the road.
At present Dianne's sister Carol and her husband Denard are staying with us as they participate in the World Masters Games, taking place right now in Edmonton. Denard was in a triathalon on Saturday in which he won a gold medal and Carol is in a weeklong soccer tournament that goes into the finals on the weekend. So far their team is undefeated. So, we are quite proud of both our amateur athletes.
Sandy left last night for a 10 day jaunt to La Belle Province for a conference and a chance to catch up with some of her friends she met while attending a course down there a couple of years ago. She will be staying in Quebec City and has taken a good friend along to keep her company and out of trouble.
