All Alone
It's a cool, cloudy and gloomy day here in Edmonton and the forecast is for more of the same for the rest of the weekend. It's a good time to get caught up on a few projects. Dianne and the girls are down in Florida at the moment visiting Nikki & Chris so I am all alone here and am taking this opportunity to try and get a bit of work done. It's the holiday weekend and I relish at having an extra day off. I have started work on the wedding video that we shot last weekend. I'm just capturing the footage from the cameras at the moment and will start editing shortly. I also have some work to do on the Fort Edmonton Park video. Fort Edmonton finally got back to me with a few changes they would like me to make. We also have to incorporate some more features and for that I am awaiting new material. The footage from the wedding looks fantastic. The quality of the new camera is outstanding and the audio pickup worked tremendously too. I splurged and bought a $700 Sennheiser wireless mike setup and miked the groom for the ceremony. It's an omni directional mike and picks up quite a lot. I'm quite pleased with the quality. We shot with three cameras and Dianne became quite a trooper manning the second and third unit cameras at various times to get certain shots. She quite enjoyed it and now wants to go out shooting stock footage with me. We got some good shots of the Banff Springs hotel and Bow falls until the batteries died, but we also got some spectacular shots of the mountains that will look great in the wedding video. As I mentioned Dianne, Sandi and Angela went down to Crestview on Friday. They drove to Calgary on Thursday night and stayed with Dianne's brother David in order to get their flight out early Friday morning. The flight was considerably cheaper from Calgary for some reason, hence the drive down there. They will be in Crestview until late next week.
